Alfreton Park is a lively, successful special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, with severe and profound learning difficulties. The school has a strong commitment to child safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to respect this commitment.
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Attendance Officer to join our inclusive and nurturing team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in improving attendance and supporting the wellbeing of children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
As our Attendance Officer, you will be the key point of contact for monitoring and promoting excellent attendance across the school. You’ll work closely with families, staff, and external agencies to ensure students are supported in overcoming barriers to attendance, enabling them to thrive in our caring school community.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in an administrative, pastoral, or attendance-related role (education setting preferred).
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confidence using school MIS systems or willingness to learn.
- Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to inclusion.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
The successful candidate must be flexible but the core hours are 9:15-13:15 Mon-Fri
