Senior Adviser for School Improvement 2 Posts

Grade: Soulbury 21–24 plus 3 SPA points

Derbyshire’s Education Improvement Service are looking to appoint two highly motivated Senior School Improvement Advisers.  

At a time of exciting transformation across the education landscape, we are looking to appoint two experienced senior education leaders to join the Education Improvement Service.

These 2-year fixed term strategic leadership roles, you will play a key part in improving educational outcomes across Derbyshire schools. You will provide oversight of standards and quality, lead school improvement initiatives, and act as a trusted adviser to school leaders and wider services.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished school leader or adviser, with significant experience in leading change, and a proven track record of improving the quality of education and outcomes for children and young people.

The post-holder will:

  • Lead school improvement across a designated group or phase of schools
  • Act as the strategic link for schools, providing both support and challenge
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on school performance
  • Lead intervention in schools causing concern and drive rapid improvement
  • Manage and support a team of link advisers and consultants
  • Analyse performance and data outcomes to inform risk assessment and agree school improvement priorities
  • Deliver advice, consultancy and training to schools and governing bodies
  • Lead on key aspects of work for Education Improvement Service, in line with national and local priorities.

Ideally, we would like the successful candidate to join the service in September, however, start date to be negotiated depending on individual contractual arrangements.
