We have an exciting opportunity for an Elective Home Education (EHE) Development and Liaison officer. The team you will join forms a part of the wider All Children Receiving Education (ACRE) branch of Childrens Services and comprises of a small department of friendly and committed colleagues. The post offers you the opportunity to use your skills and experience to genuinely improve outcomes for children and young people.
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated applicant with experience of service development and excellent organisational skills. Applicants should have a passion for working with home educating families, including children with additional leaning needs.
The broad purpose of the role includes:
· Providing advice and guidance regarding EHE, including that pertaining to legislation to a variety of stakeholders, including: families, education, health and social care colleagues and other agencies.
· Assist in the processing of referrals and queries made to the EHE service
· Managing a workload of complex cases.
· Supporting with the development and implementation of the teams safeguarding and SEND practices, including attendance at Vulnerable Childrens Meetings (VCM’s) and chairing complex Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews.
· Developing and delivering EHE training packages to colleagues across the Local Authority and schools.
· Providing support and guidance to the team of EHE Advisors
· Any other specific tasks, delegated by the EHE manager, as and when they arise.

This is a full-time maternity cover vacancy, due to commence as soon as possible.
Our team is contractually based at County Hall, Matlock, Derbyshire. However, as part of our Modern Ways of Working programme we are currently working on a hybrid basis, with one ‘team day’ per week on site. There may also be occasional need to travel within the county. There will be an opportunity to discuss working arrangements at interview.
