An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dedicated teaching assistant to join our Christ the King CVA team. Christ the King is a welcoming, forward-thinking, inclusive school in which all thrive and strive to be the best that they can be, living out the Gospel values in their thoughts, words and actions. You will be part of a highly motivated team where high-quality CPD is at the heart of our teaching and learning offer. There will be opportunities for developing our alternative curriculum offer, as well as contributing to whole school development. Our Catholic ethos is at the heart of our school life, however we welcome applicants from all world faiths or none.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working 1:1 to support children who may need access to an alternative curriculum to support their behaviour and learning
  • Working with teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Giving support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement

What are we looking for?

If you are an enthusiastic and supportive Teaching Assistant who is committed to getting the best outcomes for pupils then we want to hear from you. The successful candidate will be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. Experience of adapting their approach to meet the needs of all pupils, including having an understanding of a range of complex needs and needs associated with attachment and trauma, would be desirable.

The St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to satisfactory references, which will be requested, prior to interview, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications plus verification of the right to work in the UK.

Please note that the closing date may be brought forward depending upon interest.
