The Role

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Climate and National Park Strategy Officer to contribute to our strategic plan making and performance function, with a strong focus on collaboration, relationship management and partnership working. 

You will contribute to the development, delivery and monitoring of the National Park Management Plan and Authority Plan, helping ensure they are evidence-based, aligned with national policy, and shaped through meaningful engagement with partners. The team’s focus in the next couple of years is developing the next National Park Management Plan with a wide and complex range of external partners. 

You will also play a role in coordinating the Authority’s response to climate change. This includes working to ensure the new Management Plan incorporates clear and deliverable climate adaptation measures, and that climate resilience is embedded across decision-making, plans and strategies—both within the Authority and in partnership with stakeholders. 

About You

You need to have the following:

Education to degree-level or equivalent in an appropriate environment-based subject (geography, sustainability, environmental studies/science/management)

Experience in policy or strategy and working with internal and external partners

Ability to research, assimilate, analyse and make recommendations on complex information in a way that is relevant to the audience

Experience in relevant research, data collection and manipulation, and analysis
