We need your help to support our Children and young people in care, including disabled children and those who come to us for short breaks

During the current coronavirus we have had an increase in the number of children in care, both disabled children and those without significant disabilities - could you join one of our teams caring for children and disabled children and young people?

We’re looking for people to join teams working with our children. You need to have experience and skills of working with children and young people and are available on relief basis working part or full time. Staff will benefit from training and induction; the induction will include infection control and other relevant DCC policies and procedures.

As a residential children’s worker you would work in one of our children’s homes, working alongside experienced staff across 24/7.

Please specify how many hours you could work and whether you are seeking to work with disabled children or those without disabilities. This post will involve significant training and so priority will be given to those available for 15 hours per week or more.

We also are seeking people to consider being a foster carer – please do look at

Please support the community at this time by considering this role.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
