We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity within the disabled children’s service to apply for the position of RCW at The Outback. This is to work alongside a team of other experienced RCW’s and Family Support Assistants within The Outback service which provides a wide range of support including individual support, supervised family time, parenting assessments, domiciliary care in the home and targeted work to support identified need in the family home. You will be required to have the confidence to challenge when necessary and to liaise with other professionals/colleagues and you will have the support of an experienced management team.  An understanding and interest of the issues facing disabled young people is vital.  This post requires an entry level qualification of ‘Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare’ (or equivalent).  If you do not hold the qualification, you must be willing to work towards this once in post (within six months of the post commencing).

Please note:  Although we are part of short break services for disabled children in Derbyshire, we are not a residential provision.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
