A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a 3 year post qualified Social Worker to join and contribute to the development of our New Family and Friends Fostering Team and be part of Derbyshire County Councils commitment to achieving good outcomes for children whilst living with family and friends.

This full-time position will predominantly require the completion of robust and complex Family and Friends Assessments in a timely manner along side supporting and training Family and Friends Carers. Form F assessments and the support/training of mainstream Carers maybe also be required on occasions, depending on the need of the service. The successful applicant will have; experience of working with children in care and foster carers; strong assessment and analytical skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal. We are looking for applicants who will be committed to working in partnership with carers and other colleagues to ensure children in Derbyshire are encouraged to be the best they can be.

Whilst the Family and Friends Team is a County Wide Team – The successful applicant would be required to cover the South of the County and there are office bases in both Ilkeston and Swadlincote – The flexibility to cover other areas both in and out of the County is needed from time to time and there is also the flexibility to work from home
