- North East & Bolsover – 1 part time post – 33 hours
- High Peak and North Dales – 1 post - 18.5 hours
- Chesterfield – 2 posts, 1 - 37 hours and 1 - 1 8.5 hours
- Amber Valley – 2 posts, 1 - 37 hours and 1 - 18.5 hours
- Erewash – 3 posts – 37 hours
- South Derbyshire Dales and South Derbyshire – 1 post, 18.5 hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Children’s Services for dynamic and committed individuals to provide direct and practical support to children and families with a wide range of complex and often challenging needs to enable them to remain in their family unit and their communities, and to ensure they remain in education, employment and training (EET).
- Build trust and confidence with vulnerable families
- Improve and maintain independence of children, young people and families
- Support parents/carers to manage their child’s routines
- Influence parents/carers to make sustained changes to improve and enhance quality of life
- Work with colleagues to deliver provision that meets the needs of young people through work that is building based and/or in a variety of “street based” environments including mobile
- Guide young people and parents/carers to advice and support and health, education, employment and training.
- Motivate and inspire parents/carers to address concerns about neglect
- Working as part of the family help team and to ‘Think Family’ in their engagement with families and follow safeguarding procedures.
What will I be doing:
Provide direct support to children and families with practical and domestic tasks, as needed and health promotion activities in line with agreed steps developed as part of the action plans.
Provide support which helps to meet social and emotional needs. Assist in tasks which support families to maintain their independence whilst keeping their children safe.
Provide specific support to young people to access vacancies, benefits, allowances, courses, higher education, work and training.
Alert managers to changes in family circumstances or needs and respond in emergency situations liaising with colleagues, other agencies, and carers as appropriate.
Develop excellent relationships with parents/carers in order to influence them to understand how their parenting impacts on their family.
What skills and experience do you need to have:
- Be enthusiastic, versatile and self-motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Have experience of working with children and families
- Able to problem solve and proactively work with others.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of and implementation of safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent IT skills
