St Mary's Catholic High School are looking for a highly motivated, competent, and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our hardworking and friendly catering team.

You will be a team player with good communication skills and a flexible approach to working.  Applicants should have an awareness of the principles of food hygiene and service and be able to prepare and serve food to our students.   A Basic Food Hygiene NVQ Level 1 qualification is essential and previous experience of working in a production kitchen or food service operation would be an advantage, but training can be given to the right candidate.

We are particularly keen to reflect the diverse nature of our student community in our staff; we welcome applications from all qualified applicants and strongly believe that diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact to our whole school community.

Potential candidates would be very welcome to have an informal telephone discussion with the Catering Manager, Mr Shaun Bowes, before applying.  If you would like to do so or would like any further information, please contact the Headteacher’s PA, Mrs Rachel Gilding by email.

TO APPLY YOU MUST COMPLETE AND RETURN THE SCHOOL’S APPLICATION FORM.  CVS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

Please do not apply using The Derbyshire County Council Website.

Application forms may be downloaded from the school’s website www.st-maryshigh.derbyshire.sch.uk or alternatively please email Mrs R Gilding, Headteacher’s PA at rgilding@stmaryschesterfield.org.uk for further information or an application pack.

St Mary's Catholic High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and as such expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
