We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated caretaker to join our supportive team at Grange Primary School. Our school is a happy place to work, where our vision of ‘Living, Learning and Laughing’ is an integral part of our everyday practice.
This post has arisen following the planned retirement of our existing caretaker. The successful candidate will be able to work well as part of a team with our site manager, as well as independently providing key duties to ensure the safety, security, cleanliness and maintenance of our buildings and grounds.
Our Caretaker is also responsible for reporting any faults which require more specialist help to the appropriate people and ensuring all fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
The successful candidate will have:
- Good DIY skills and knowledge and basic maintenance
- The ability to work independently and have a proactive approach
- Have good communication skills and be a reliable member of the team
- Be able to work successfully as part of the cleaning and maintenance team.

Although a 37 hour week is in operation, the role is over a two week cycle:
Week 1 - Mornings Mon to Fri 6am to 1.30pm.
Week 2 - Afternoons Mon to Fri 10.30am to 6pm.
