An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Youth Justice Service for a social worker to be the Lead for children in care who offend In Derbyshire. You will represent the children at the Youth Justice Panel ensuring children in care are no criminlaised unneccessarily. 

 You will also help continue the progress of our Youth Justice Service to continue to enhance the service we offer to our children who become involved within our service developing our strategic relationships, improving our local offer and ensuring excellent outcomes for our children including children in care. The position includes holding a caseload mainly children in care. 

Our Youth Justice Vision: Child First in everything we say, do and write. We build on the strengths of children, families and communities to achieve their potential and in turn, protect the public and victims. We never give up on our children and young people.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with minimal supervision and possess skills around engaging and motivating young people. Experience of working with young people is necessary including following intervention programmes. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate administration and IT skills and have a flexible approach to work. Good communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines are essential
