During the current Coronavirus Pandemic could you make a difference to the life of an older or disabled person who relies on care and support? Derbyshire County Council is urgently looking for people to join our valued care teams helping and supporting some of our vulnerable Derbyshire residents during these unprecedented circumstances.
As a care worker you’ll be part of a team working together to support people, either in one of our care homes for older people or extra care facilities, to maintain their daily lives, including supporting with washing, dressing, toileting and preparing food. You will be fully supported and protected in your role, whilst helping to make a difference to peoples’ lives.
You don’t need previous experience of working in social care, just the desire to help make a difference to someone’s life, as you will receive all the appropriate training, equipment and assistance you need to do the job.
If you’re looking for either a short or longer term rewarding role that offers good rates of pay, free uniform, high quality training and supports the community, then please apply for this role. It’s your chance to make a difference to local peoples’ lives. In this role you will need to be able to work usual care shift patterns (morning, afternoon, nights) but the number of shifts you work each week can be flexible
We will pay for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, as well as provide full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Please help us support vulnerable people at this time by considering this role.
To find out more about these roles and what it’s like to work for us, you can read the stories of three care workers we’ve recruited during the coronavirus pandemic.
Please note that if you already work in another health and social care setting (e.g another care home, home care provider or hospital ward) and intend to remain in that job, we will be unable to offer you a post with us at the moment. This is due to Public Health England guidance that advises care staff should not move between facilities due to the risk of transferring coronavirus.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
