Derbyshire County Council Adult Social Care and Health has a number of qualified social work positions available throughout the county, both full time and part time hours on permanent and temporary contracts. Positions are available in a variety of settings, including as part of our new short term service offer and within acute hospital as well as working in the community.
Applications are welcomed from those who have experience in working in adult social work, those who have social work experience in another area of practice, from newly qualified social workers and from those looking to return to the profession.
Successful candidates in any of our available roles will take a strengths based approach to assessing care and support needs under the Care Act 2014, provide information and advice, undertake person centred support planning and provide professional social work support. They will work in partnership with colleagues from other agencies, including close working with the NHS, and will be integral to the investigation of safeguarding concerns.
We welcome and encourage applicants from a black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) background as well as newly qualified social workers.
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
