๐ŸŒŸ Rewarding Opportunity for a Dedicated Senior Occupational Therapy Practitioner ๐ŸŒŸ

Derbyshire County Council has recently restructured its services, bringing Occupational Therapy to the forefront of reablement initiatives and enhancing our core functions with a centralised service delivery model led by an Occupational Therapy management team. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’ช

As part of our commitment to delivering outstanding professional leadership, we are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Occupational Therapy Practitioner to join our friendly team in Amber Valley, Erewash, and South Derbyshire. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ

About You

  • Are you driven by a desire to enable people to live fulfilling lives?
  • Do you excel at building strong, professional relationships with our Derbyshire residents?
  • Can you connect effortlessly with individuals from diverse backgrounds?
  • Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to take the next step in your career?

Qualifications and Experience

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification ๐ŸŽ“
  • Extensive experience as a practising Senior Occupational Therapist ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
  • Resilience and the ability to thrive under pressure, adapting to the demands of the role ๐Ÿ’ช

About the Role ๐Ÿ“

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in fostering the professional development of our teams and ensuring the effective delivery of core Occupational Therapy services. Your focus will be on enabling individuals with long-term needs to live safely and independently at home taking a strength based approach and utilising support that may include advice, information, signposting, equipment, and minor and major housing adaptations. ๐Ÿ โœจ

Working alongside the Occupational Therapy Service Manager and another Senior Practitioner in your area, you will uphold high standards of professional practice. Youโ€™ll manage a small, complex caseload while contributing to new service developments and ensuring our teams have the skills and training required to provide an excellent service. ๐ŸŒŸ

As a Senior Practitioner, youโ€™ll provide clinical supervision, promote reflective practice, and ensure adherence to professional standards set by The Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council. Additionally, youโ€™ll mentor and coach colleagues, particularly newly qualified Occupational Therapists and Apprentices, and play a crucial role in nurturing future talent by supporting Occupational Therapy students. ๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŒฑ

This role also emphasises time-limited, strength-based interventions to achieve the best outcomes for Derbyshire residents. Youโ€™ll collaborate closely with colleagues in the short-term reablement service, providing professional oversight where there are no registered Occupational Therapy Service Managers or Senior Practitioners. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ผ
