A number of exciting opportunities have become available to support adults to live fulfilling, meaningful and independent lives in the following areas: Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, The High Peak, Erewash, Amber Valley and South Derbyshire.  In total 8 relief DSO posts are available.

As a Relief Domiciliary Service Organiser (DSO) in Extra Care, you will support and lead a team of homecare staff providing support within peoples own flats in one of our Extra Care supported living settings. You will work alongside  established DSO's which includes weekend and bank holiday working at times, and on a 5 from 7 day basis. Although we would seek to match you with a setting closest to your choice, there is opportunity to cover more than 1 setting if so wished.  Users of our Extra Care services are predominantly Older adults with physical and cognitive disabilities and long term health conditions.  Our Extra Care support teams work hard to enable individuals to live in their own homes in a supported community for as long as possible to ensure the persons wishes are at the centre of everything we do. 

Your role will include mentoring and leadership of colleagues, organising rota's, developing individual service plans, managing attendance, risk assessment and using IT systems as well as other tasks.  Key to the role is ensuring safe and dignified care provision for people living in Extra Care who need that bit of extra support to remain independent. We work hand in hand with housing providers who manage the locations in which we provide 'Extra Care',  to offer domiciliary and tenancy support that wraps a holistic package of care around the person.

Although the status of the posts is relief which means we cannot guarantee hours, due to the 5 in 7 working pattern we regularly have shifts available on an ongoing basis. We offer a full and robust training package and career progression.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
