We are seeking people who are passionate about working with Adults and Young people from the age of 14 years upwards who have a learning disability and/or who are autistic and have experience either on a personal or professional level of learning disability and/or Autism and the effects of disability and its impacts and barriers.

  • The successful candidate will be required to work with and alongside people and their families to find and create meaningful and sustainable opportunities for the person within their local communities. To connect clients to opportunities that will enable them to live the most independent lives where they want to live and how they want to live.
  • To meet their individual aspirations whilst building stronger relationships within their localities using a thriving community approach.
  • To link individuals up to opportunities in their area to help prevent isolation to support inclusion and community diversity including work and volunteering. To develop new and maintain relationships/friendships during the day, evenings, and weekends.
  • To be actively involved in promoting digital solutions to enable people to be more independent and to narrow the digital divide.

The position also requires the successful candidate to have knowledge of their communities and to work with and alongside other professionals as well as the private and voluntary sector providers and local organisations and businesses and community groups/resources.

This is a fast-paced service which will require the successful candidate will to be highly motivated, innovative, and creative, having good interpersonal and communication skills on all levels. Good time management is required to meet the demands of a growing case load and you will be expected to work flexibly. There is also a need for knowledge and skills in and around IT systems.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
