** Derbyshire County Council are hiring! **

Are you someone with a caring personality and a desire to care for others? Do you have the ambition and drive to work positively with people, promoting choice and control to encourage their independence in personal care, mobility, medication, making meals, whilst working to their personal service plan? Could you make a difference to someone’s life by offering short term care and support?

Derbyshire County Council are looking for care workers (community) to work in our local areas to help people achieve their maximum level of independence after an accident or general dip in health. You don’t need to have previous experience of care work or qualifications as we offer structured training to ensure our care workers receive what they need to flourish and progress in their social care careers!

We’re keen to hear from you if you:

  • enjoy a challenge
  • understand what it means to treat people with dignity and respect
  • can place a person at the centre of their care
  • can be creative and are forward thinking

Working in care can be challenging at times, but extremely rewarding, and as an employee of Derbyshire County Council, you will receive continual support from managers and peers, competitive rates of pay, personal protective equipment and workwear, favourable pension,  and an employer who genuinely cares about your development!

We have vacancies in numerous areas across Derbyshire, working anytime between 7.00am and 22.00pm on a rota basis, with various contracts and opportunities to work additional hours if required. This role requires applicants to travel across a sizeable geographical area so access to transport is essential.

Interested? Click on the attachments where you can find more specific details about the role of a Care Worker and apply through our website where you can track progress of your application.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided. Click here to see our policy on criminal background checks.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
