Bolsover District Council is a dynamic and ambitious organisation that takes pride in delivering excellent services to our community whilst driving economic growth and environmental sustainability for the district.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced professional to manage its Governance Team. This role includes the support of high-level statutory meetings, the coordination of agendas, production of minutes, overseeing the delivery of actions and providing procedural advice. The role is also responsible for managing its civic function. In addition, the manager will be required to support the Council’s Scrutiny Officer in delivery of its scrutiny function.
If successful you will manage a small team of Governance and Scrutiny officers.
You will be required to work closely with clients from across the Council and its wholly owned companies together with its councillors.
To be successful you will need:
- Significant knowledge of executive and non-executive governance arrangements including overview and scrutiny
- Knowledge of the ethical framework as set out within the Localism Act
- Understanding of the governance of town and parish councils
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
