A vacancy has now arisen within the Housing Department for a Central Control Operative.

16 hours per week – Every Weekend and all Bank Holidays plus contractual overtime to cover Annual Leave and sickness. 

Shifts:  AM  6am – 2pm  /  PM  2pm – 10pm  /  Nights 10pm – 6am

The successful applicant will provide an efficient and caring service in respect of all users of the Council’s Central Control Service, which includes the Council’s Careline out of hours service.

To be successful you will need:  

  • An awareness of issues relating to working with elderly or vulnerable people
  • Recent proven practical experience of working with elderly and vulnerable people
  • The ability to work alone in a fast paced office environment
  • The ability to work on their own initiative
  • The ability to be able to prioritise workloads
  • Effective communication skills in order to deal with telephone conversations with tenants and members of the public
  • Good IT skills and the ability to work with multiple screens and platforms
