Senior Technician – Countryside Structures
Location: Derbyshire-wide
Are you a civil engineering technician with a passion for heritage, safety, and the great outdoors?
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Technician to help manage and maintain Derbyshire’s unique countryside structures—bridges, culverts, canal structures, retaining walls, footbridges, and even rock faces. This is a rare opportunity to combine technical expertise with environmental stewardship in a role that directly supports public safety, access, and sustainability.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering inspections, surveys, and maintenance across the county, ensuring our countryside infrastructure is safe, resilient, and fit for the future.
What makes this role special?
- You’ll work on a wide variety of structures in beautiful rural settings
- You’ll contribute to asset management, inspections, and urgent works
- You’ll use systems like AMX and AutoCAD to support planning and reporting
- You’ll help shape how Derbyshire manages its countryside infrastructure
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience inspecting and maintaining highway or countryside structures
- Understands structural design, maintenance, and asset management principles
- Can work independently and as part of a team, often in remote locations
- Is confident using IT systems, CAD, and bridge management tools
Whether you’re already working in highways or looking to apply your engineering skills in a more varied and meaningful setting—this could be your next big step.
