We are seeking to appoint an experienced Business Service Assistant to provide a high quality and effective business support service to operational managers and employees on a broad range of administrative support activities, you will be working within the Street Lighting and Traffic Signals Service, part of the Derbyshire Highways division within Place. The position is temporary providing maternity.

You will lead a small team of Business Services Assistants supporting operational teams. Responsibilities include but not limited to; scheduling of works to electricians, fault processing with internal and external stakeholders, leading rechargeable works claims to maximise cost recovery to the service, processing invoices, raising purchase orders and handling enquiries received by the service.

Proven literacy and numeracy skills are essential as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You should be self-motivated and willing to adopt a flexible approach to meet priorities and deadlines. Well-developed IT skills and an excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite are required. 

The successful applicant will have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentational skills and be capable of dealing with contacts at all levels including other Council departments, elected members, internal and external stakeholders and members of the public.

Applicants must have a strong customer focus, be highly organised, have excellent planning skills and be able to set and achieve targets through regular performance review.
