Come and join us as we build a new ‘One Council’ centralised Business Services, with a vision to create efficient, effective and consistent business processes and administrative support. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Services Team for a committed and flexible individual to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Erewash locality:

  • 37 hours – temporary position for 6 months.
  • Working to support Childrens Service staff across the Erewash Locality.
  • Base: Derbyshire County Council, Mercian Close*, Ilkeston DE7 8HG. *Subject to review.

More about the Role

The Team Co-ordinator is an integral part of small teams in a Locality, supporting team managers, social workers, practice supervisors and community care workers with daily tasks. This is an administrative role to support the team and drive the service forward to achieve the best outcomes for young people and improve the operational efficiency and quality of service. 

What will I be doing:

  • Providing support for operational teams on work processes and systems to ensure quality and standards are maintained
  • Using various information technologies, including the use of a case management system∙
  • Undertaking financial procedures, monitoring and ensuring compliance
  • Undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks.
  • Providing high-quality customer service to all internal and external stakeholders  
  • Provision of support and recording of discussions (minute taking) at regular meetings within the service ensuring action points are noted & prompt secure distribution.
  • Providing support with building maintenance and health and safety compliance.
  • Contribute to and facilitate Induction Programme for new staff and peers.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills whilst remaining flexible and supportive to others
  • An ability to work as part of a team coordinating a wide range of administrative duties
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft packages
  • A proactive approach to their own and the team’s performance
  • Excellent customer service skills to build and maintain relationships with young people, Social Workers, Foster Carers and external agencies and partners
  • An ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently or through a support team
  • An understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and Data Protection
