An exciting opportunity is available to become part of the coronial team within Derby Coroner’s Court. We are looking for someone who can be flexible with dates, friendly and compassionate to our court users. The role of Jury Usher is a public facing professional role to supervise a jury during the course of an inquest. The role requires excellent communication, organisation and the ability to work under pressure.
As a Court Usher, you will be the first point of contact for people attending court hearings. You will help to organise things like seating, drinks and court papers. You'll also make sure that the hearing proceeds smoothly, taking direction from the Coroner and Coroner’s Officer.
Successful candidates will have:
- Good IT skills.
- Ability to cope with hearing very distressing information.
- Strong communicator and confident in dealing with difficult situations.
- Ability to identify, prioritise and plan effectively.
