Come and join us as we build a new ‘One Council’ centralised Business Services, with a vision to create efficient, effective and consistent business processes and administrative support. An opportunity has arisen within the Elective Home Education Team for maternity cover of up to a year.
You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants. The role is varied, fast-paced and the ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines is essential.
37 hours per week, office based 1 day/week, usually Tuesday but can vary, normal office hours.

What will I be doing:
- Processing referrals, including checking the accuracy of information and filing in the appropriate manner (Synergy is the main system)
- Monitoring the process of individual cases and updating operational colleagues as necessary
- Ensuring current data is accurate and updated in a timely manner.
- Collating and analysing data to provide a range of reports
- Assisting in the collation of data for statutory reports
- Gather and disseminate information to and from parents, professionals, schools, and other local authorities.
- Handle telephone and email communications, providing basic guidance and signposting on Elective Home Education (EHE).
- Providing agendas and taking minutes for meetings

Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Excellent IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong teamworking skills and experience in delivering a broad range of administrative tasks.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced office environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organisational abilities, with a capacity to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Competence in interpreting information and analysing data.
- Willingness to assist with process improvement and implementation.
- Sound understanding of confidentiality, GDPR, and data protection
- Financial experience is desirable.
- NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent relevant office experience.
- Enthusiastic approach with adaptable and transferable skills.
