The Coroners service has a vacancy for a full-time permanent Business Service Assistant to be based with the Derby Coroner’s Office, St Katherines House, Mansfield Road, Derby DE1 3TQ. We are looking for a committed and flexible individual to join our busy office and become part of the coroners team.

The service is customer focused and there is an expectation good customer service should be given both face to face and by telephone. The role requires interaction with members of the public, Barristers, Doctors, Pathologists and many other professional bodies.

The successful candidate will require excellent I.T skills, preferably have previous experience of using case management systems and able to demonstrate good organisations skills which will be required when acting as Court Clerk for inquests. The post holder will be expected to prepare courts for inquests including remote and hybrid hearings and support the Coroner throughout the hearing.
