A vacancy has arisen for a clerk to governors; working alongside our fabulous governing board at our amazing school! 

The Clerk is a vital role in our Governing Body, and we are looking for someone who;

  • will be a valued, committed member of the team
  • will keep us strategic, organised, compliant and informed
  • can build relationships to confidently support and challenge the board 

You will be working under the direction of our Headteacher and Chair of Governors. The role involves preparing for, attending and minuting at least 10 governors’ meetings per year, as well as providing an administrative and advice service to the Governing Board. All meetings are held at the school in the evenings. 

The four hours per week should be taken as an average over the school year.  Some weeks there might be lots to do (i.e. when meetings are scheduled/being prepared for), other weeks very little. 

We will invest in your development. You need to be willing to take part in training and attend briefings as required. 

Our governors are a friendly bunch, you would be a well-supported, vital and appreciated member of the team.
