The Headteacher and Governors at Coppice Primary School & Nursery are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Clerk to the Governing Board.

Excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills are essential.  

The successful candidate should have an understanding of the role of school Governors and the Clerk, excellent IT skills and the ability to work flexibly.

Coppice Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment which is dedicated to providing high-quality education for children aged 3 – 11 years.  As the Clerk to Governors you will contribute to the efficient and effective function of the Governing Board and its committees by: 

  • efficient, reliable and confidential service to the Governing Board and committees
  • To advise the Governing Board on constitutional matters and procedures for school governance.
  • Managing information effectively in accordance with legal requirements 

Applicants must demonstrate flexibility in their approach to the role as there is no fixed pattern of working hours. Meetings are currently scheduled one per term from 5:30 pm, but all preparation before and after meetings is expected to be completed remotely from home. A laptop and access to necessary data will be provided for the role.

Provisional Interview Date: Week commencing 9 September 2024.
