The Governing Body of Marlpool Federation of Schools is seeking to appoint a well organised, enthusiastic and efficient Clerk to Governors. The Clerk’s main role is to work with the Chair of Governors and the Headteacher before each Governing Body meeting to prepare a purposeful agenda. In addition, they are required to attend meetings and take notes and then prepare minutes indicating who is responsible for actions, recording all decisions accurately and objectively with timescales, ensuring that an accurate record of Governing Body decisions and actions is maintained. The clerk is also required to advise the Governing Body on legislation and procedural good practice to ensure that the Governing Body is acting within its statutory responsibilities.
Meetings are held at school in the evening and all meeting dates are scheduled at the start of each term. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running of the Governing Body by demonstrating excellent organisational, communication and computing skills.
