An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Services Team for a committed and flexible individual to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Childrens Services Business Services Central Support Team

You will be joining a friendly team of experienced Business Services Assistants.  The role is varied, fast-paced and the ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines is essential.

The team are currently hybrid working. There will be an opportunity to discuss the working arrangements at interview

What will I be doing:

  • Processing of enquiries, monitoring overall achievement of compliance with service standards and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Accurately recording information in line with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations
  • Supporting with the development of department’s internal communication including the department’s SharePoint Site
  • Utilise and maximise ICT systems, software and technologies, including Microsoft software, to maintain operational efficiencies and ensure effectiveness of business processes and practices.
  • Maintain diaries, produce, and manage correspondence, taking notes and progressing or monitoring relevant actions.
  • Create documents, reports and other materials using standard and some non-standard formats.
  • Straightforward analysis, manipulation and interpretation of data to provide information to the service, including data collection activities.
  • General administrative duties.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Excellent IT skills, which includes the use of Microsoft packages.
  • An ability to supervise staff
  • An ability to work as part of a team undertaking a wide range of administrative duties.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Excellent organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
  • An ability to interpret information and analyse data.
  • Assist and support with streamlining processes and implementation
  • An understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and Data Protection.
  • Previous financial experience would be beneficial.
  • NVQ Level 2 qualification or relevant office experience.
  • Enthusiasm and transferable skills
