The Village Federation is seeking to appoint a SENCO and Behaviour Lead to work across the four schools of the federation (Brassington, Carsington, FitzHerbert and Kirk Ireton Primary Schools). If you feel that you have the potential to help lead a system, as part of our senior leadership team, that ensures provision for pupils with SEND and behavioural needs is the very best it can be, then we would love to meet you!
It is a very exciting time at The Village Federation. Our schools are places where creativity and innovation are welcomed and we are very keen to meet practitioners who have the skills and knowledge to help maintain existing provision and ensure it remains a strength.
This is a role with no timetabled class commitment and we are looking for a skilled professional who can maintain and enhance our provision across the four schools by implementing training, modelling best practice, working directly with children, liaising with external agencies and families, writing funding applications and generally supporting the whole federation in getting the very best for all of our children. We believe strongly in evidence-based practice and our aim is for everyone to be able to get full access to our curriculum which we hope will be the most awe-inspiring it can be for all of our children.
We offer first class CPD and support with career progression in our flexible, happy and dedicated team. We are also very proud that three of our schools are Church of England Schools and it is important that all applicants feel able to support that tradition and the ethos of a Church School.
Whilst this post is advertised as full-time, we will accept applications from candidates who may prefer a part-time contract – please make this clear in your application. Subject to the appropriate checks, the successful candidate will be invited to start from September 2025.
The Village Federation offers an excellent working environment where talent is nurtured, work-life balance is valued and everyone is determined to create a happy and successful environment for children and adults alike. To learn more about our vision for everyone involved in school, please visit: https://www.thevillagefederation.co.uk/vision.
We will also welcome visits from candidates. Please contact business@thevillagefederation.co.uk if you would like to arrange a visit to any of our schools or to learn more about the role.
Provisional Interview Date: Thursday 22 May 2025
Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.
