South Derbyshire Sport and Health Team are looking to recruit up to 10 motivated Sports and Health Coaches to support various activities across the District of South Derbyshire.  You will be part of a team of coaches who will be leading and delivering sporting and physical activities primarily to young people aged between 5 and 19 years, however some activities will also be targeted at the 16+ age range.  Staff will be employed to work on South Derbyshire District Council’s extensive range of community based sporting programmes with the Sport and Health Team and school based educational programmes through the Active Schools Partnership.  Additional opportunities to work on the award winning ‘Get Active in The Forest’ programme of outdoor and adventurous activities will also be available.  Staff will be employed on a casual basis, however it is expected that opportunities for between 10-15 hours per week may be offered up to July.  Staff may then be offered up to 37 hours per week during the summer playscheme delivery over a 5 week period during the school holidays.  You will be part of a team of staff who will be leading in the delivery of summer provision activities in South Derbyshire including staffing the Play Mobile, Adventure Mobile and Sports Mobile.  Additional opportunities will then be available on both school and community programmes from September 2017 onwards.  All hours are subject to service demand and will include daytime, some evening and weekend hours.  Activities (subject to qualification and experience) could include: multi sport activities, Bikeability, outdoor and adventurous activity, Nordic walking, cycling, generic sports delivery, event support, leadership programme delivery, sports mentoring, along with projects and programmes associated with the School Sports Partnership such as competitions and festivals.  Full training will be given where necessary for specific activities.  For an informal discussion about the posts, please contact: Ian Gee, Active Schools Partnership Officer, 01283 228751.  For further details on the Council and to apply online please visit our website: www.south-derbys.gov.uk or contact HR on 01283 595789.
