An exciting opportunity has arisen within in Live Life Better Derbyshire, part of Derbyshire County Council’s Public Health department to support the work of the Health Improvement Team. We are looking to appoint 2 Health Improvement Advisors (Weight Management) to join our multi skilled team of delivery staff. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing service which provides one to one support and group support and advice for Derbyshire residents wanting to lose weight and become more physically active. You will be required to contribute to the delivery of the wider Live Life Better Derbyshire agenda that supports clients to identify and address their health and wellbeing needs.
2 full-time posts supporting the delivery of our Family Weight Management service based in the High Peak & Derbyshire Dales. Various locations would be considered.
The successful applicant will require:
- Excellent communication and active listening skill
- A knowledge of behaviour change techniques
- A good understanding of factors affecting health
- Experience of working with individuals and vulnerable groups within local communities
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- A good level of IT literacy as the applicant will be required to maintain accurate client records.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.
Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
