You will be joining a successful Joint Environmental Health department which delivers services at both Bolsover District Council and North East Derbyshire District Council. 

A job share opportunity has arisen in the Housing and Pollution Team which deals with private sector housing, noise from domestic premises, caravan sites and gypsies and travellers. 

Applications are welcomed from qualified and experienced Technical Officers, as well as those looking to develop into the role.  The post is available as 18½ hours per week on a fixed term contract for one year (with a potential for extension) however secondment arrangements may also be considered. 

You must have current knowledge of relevant legislation and codes of practice and have effective negotiating, influencing, diplomacy and advocacy skills.

Working within our multi-disciplined Environmental Health department you will also contribute to the wider public health work of the service as appropriate to ensure a resilient and flexible approach to service delivery. 

The ideal applicants will be innovative and enthusiastic having a “can do” approach to work and a focus on customer satisfaction and outcomes. They will be able to organise and prioritise their own workload to ensure targets are met.

It is also necessary to have excellent communication and IT skills in order to deal with a wide range of customers, partners and agencies and be able to deal with conflict, challenging and difficult situations working effectively to find solutions.

It is preferable that the successful candidates possess a full driving licence and use of a car.
