Derbyshire County Council are in the process of recruiting heating/plumbing engineers.
This will involve working as a team and individually on heating and plumbing projects and breakdowns. The applicant will be expected to have experience and knowledge of heating systems and services.
Gas qualifications are required, domestic gas qualifications are essential but commercial gas qualifications are preferred. Any recruit would be expected to upgrade their qualifications to commercial as required.
All training and testing are funded by the authority and the trainee will be paid for the period of any training.
What will I be doing
- Installation of new boilers and associated plant.
- Removal and re-installation of heating systems in DCC properties.
- Respond to breakdowns and repairs.
- Carry out work to attain compliance to regulations.
The applicant would be provided with transport. (Not for personal use)

Monthly tool allowance of £36,37 is also extra to the rate of pay
The authority also run a banked hours scheme; this allows the engineer to bank a minimum of two hours to a maximum of five hours per week. These hours can be taken as extra leave or be reimbursed at years end (April) as a lump sum at your hourly rate.
