Due to an increase in pupil numbers and retirement of a long serving member of staff, a number of positions have become available.

These include full time, part time, permanent and fixed term positions.

We can consider a range of working patterns (days and hours).

Duckmanton Primary School is a modern semi-rural school situated in an old mining village on the edge of Chesterfield.  There are approximately 200 children on roll, including a nursery and 2 year old provision.

The Governors would like to appoint an individual who will fit into the hard working, friendly ethos of the school.  The ideal candidate will be very patient, kind and able to use initiative.

The role will involve supporting children in and out of the classroom, in small groups or 1-2-1.

The successful candidate would be expected to be able to support anywhere across school, provide cover for colleagues in their absence and provide support for our SEN children.

We pride ourselves on forming supportive relationships with our children. You will need to be committed to your own professional development, have a calm manner and a passion and commitment to encouraging children to achieve the best of their ability.

You should be able to work as part of a team and show willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work undertaken.  Experience in a similar role is preferred but not necessary. Training will be provided.

It is expected that the member of staff will contribute fully to the life of this happy nurturing school.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.  Please contact the School Business Officer, Sarah Walker via  telephone or email to arrange an appointment.
