The South Derbyshire division of Adult Care Prevention and Personalisation are seeking to recruit a fixed term Senior Practitioner (Social Worker or Occupational Therapist) to join our very busy area until the end of March 2025.
You will be responsible for supporting the Service Managers in providing effective leadership to develop the areas Short Term Services and Area social work teams. This will include supporting and developing a team of Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, and the short term direct care service.
You will have knowledge of the statutory responsibilities in the implementation of the Care Act (2014) and understand the principles of short term support. You will be actively involved in statutory responsibilities supporting the existing long term teams as service need demands. You will have experience of working in accordance with the principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2007).
You will be encouraged in supporting students and/or colleagues to develop their own practice via direct support. Provider 1:1 supervision and be able to demonstrate your strengths-based assessments and awareness of local resources, alongside understanding the financial challenges facing the Local Authority.
Working alongside the Service Managers you will provide professional guidance and leadership to the team. You will have ideas about developing a team and sharing research, good practice and keeping a team up to date with contemporary practice issues/changes.
